During the recent Google I/O event, Google introduced some exciting new developments that will transform the way users explore information and gain a deeper understanding of various topics.
Among the notable updates, two stand out: the introduction of a “Perspectives” feature and the integration of generative AI to improve search results.

π The AI model is designed to learn from your past interactions and deliver a more personalized search experience. This means that you can expect more relevant results tailored to your interests and preferences.
π The Al model will improve local search results, making it easier for users to find businesses and services in their area.
π The voice search function will also receive a significant upgrade, resulting in more accurate and efficient searches.
π Users can now expect to receive a comprehensive list of shopping results in a single location when searching for specific products or services.
π Google has also introduced a conversational mode feature that allows users to follow up with additional details or prompts related to their search query. So, users won’t need to give context or start the query from scratch.
Basically, the introduction of Generative AI to Google’s search algorithms promises to provide users with a more personalized, efficient, and comprehensive search experience.
Currently, the Search Generative Experience (SGE) feature is being offered as an experimental feature in Search Labs. It is accessible to users in the United States through Chrome Desktop and the Google App for Android and iOS. Please note that the interface for SGE is currently available only in English during its initial launch.
In order to ensure the quality and reliability of search results, Google has implemented precautions considering the acknowledged limitations of generative AI and large language models (LLMs). These precautions include placing restrictions on the types of queries in which these capabilities will be applied. Google has taken these measures to maintain the integrity of search results and uphold the standards expected by users.
